2015 WARRIOR DASH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP APPROACHING RAPIDLY

New Terrain, Competitive Athletes, and $100,000 in Prize Money

PULASKI, TN (Sept. 15) – The Warrior Dash World Championship returns for a second year on Saturday, October 10, 2015. The event is hosted at Milky Way Farms, moving east after last year’s event in California. The Warrior Dash World Championship is an obstacle course race where international athletes sprint through 3.6 miles of terrain and trails to battle for their share of $100,000 and the ultimate bragging rights.

How to Qualify

Participants qualified for the Warrior Dash World Championship by finishing in the top 25 of their gender in a competitive wave at any of the 30+ international Warrior Dash locations in 2015.

Raising the Competitive Edge in 2015

Last year, over 500 athletes from across the globe competed in Esparto, California. The hilly, 3.1 mile course was dotted with 12 of the season’s most challenging obstacles. To celebrate, Warrior Dash awarded $100,000, the largest prize purse in 5K non-track history, to the top five male and female finishers. Prize purse and tiers remain the same in 2015.

1st Place: $30,000

2nd Place: $10,000

3rd Place: $5,000

4th Place: $3,000

5th Place: $2,000

New Challenges in 2015

Returning for a third year to Milky Way Farm, Tennessee’s terrain will provide a test for returning and new competitors. The 3.6 mile championship course will have an added half-mile, instead of the 3.1 mile distance at other Warrior Dash events. A variety of returning world-class athletes will be back on the battleground, including 2014 Male Champion Max King, Olympian Bridget Franek and OCR Legend, Hobie Call. “The level of competition [at the Warrior Dash World Championship] is absolutely amazing,” according to King. “You’ve got anybody from obstacle race champions, to Olympians, to fast runners, to guys like Hunter [McIntyre], who are absolute obstacle race animals.”

Warriors + St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

Red Frog Events, the company behind Warrior Dash, is nationally partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Since 2010, Warriors have helped raise $12.2 million dollars for the children and families of St. Jude. These donations go toward a $25-million fundraising commitment to open the St. Jude Red Frog Events Proton Therapy Center this fall on the St. Jude campus in Memphis, Tennessee. It will be the first center of its kind specifically designed to treat pediatric cancer. At the Championship, Warrior Dash will recognize the highest fundraising team for the 2015 Warrior Dash season. Team Missfits 4 Life, based out of Northern California, will travel to complete Warrior Dash for a fourth time, reaching a team fundraising total of $50,000 for St. Jude since 2012. Fundraising events like these help ensure no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, so they can focus on what matters most – helping their child live.

Attend the Warrior Dash World Championship

Thousands of participants are expected at the event on October 10, 2015. Attendance is free for spectators. Registration details and more information can be found at WarriorDash.com. To obtain more information or on-site credentials for the event, please email lauren.gardner@redfrogevents.com.

WARRIOR DASH BRINGS THE HEAT IN SEVENTH SEASON

Hundreds of Thousands to Complete the World’s Largest Obstacle Race Series in 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO, IL (March 16) – Warrior Dash, the world’s largest obstacle race series, released updates for its seventh season this week. Since 2009, Warrior Dash has challenged over two million athletes. As a gateway to fitness, Warrior Dash welcomes runners of all abilities to partake in this season’s over 50 international events, including 30 locations across the United States and Canada.

“The 2015 Warrior Dash season will be one of the strongest in the series’ history, marked by an expected record-breaking number of registrations, new course innovations and a revamped festival experience that makes the post-race event as exciting as the Dash itself,” said Tad Jenkins, VP of Marketing at Warrior Dash production company, Red Frog Events. “Participants will face 12 obstacles across more than three miles of terrain, dispersed with new challenges they’ve not seen before in this type of race. We’ve taken it to a new level this year.”

Course and Festival Overhaul

Prepare for the Battleground with obstacles placed within the festival at the “Warrior Hangout,” which debuted at the season’s first location in Florida on January 31. Improved post-race showers and gender-specific changing tents are standard at each location this year. Free post-race photos will continue to be available, provided via GameFace Media.

On the course, participant-favorite obstacles will return with updates for the seventh season, including:

  • Goliath: Summit the largest obstacle, then race across a one-story balance beam before making a splash at the bottom of a 20-foot high slide.
  • Mud Mounds: Grab a buddy for this one. You’ll climb over a colossal mud mound before sliding down into a muddy pit…over and over again.
  • Pipeline: Talk about a total body workout: Weave your way up, over, and through a tube of kinked cargo nets 12 feet in the air.

Plenty of additional new challenges will also be on the Battleground:

  • Plunge: Crawl up a cargo net and scale back down 16-feet to the ground. Think you can handle that? We also added cold running water, as you splash into a shallow pit.
  • Chaotic Cargo: Climb across cargo nets ten feet above the ground before reaching a second climb and tackling netting over an A-frame 20-feet in the air. Don’t look down!
  • High Tension: Ignite your core: Cross a 20-foot slackline and be careful of the alligator in the water beneath you. (Just kidding, there’s no alligator…but how do you know for sure?)
  • Under the Wire: Don’t think you’ll finish this race without some mud in new places. Grind your face to the mud for 100 feet under real barbed wire.

“We collected and paid close attention to our loyal participants’ feedback when drafting this year’s obstacle plans. While also ensuring we continued to offer innovative and approachable obstacles for first-time Warriors,” said Terry McMahon, Obstacle and Course Director for Warrior Dash. “The result will be a challenge for elite athletes, beginners and everyone in between.”

Participants and spectators at each location have free access to the Warrior Dash post-race festival. The festival will continue to feature live music and a craft beer selection from Shock Top, in addition to a new layout, new sponsorship activations, and interactive activities for athletes and their friends and families.

Warrior Dash World Championship Returns in 2015

After a successful inaugural event in October 2014, the Warrior Dash World Championship returns October 10, 2015 at Milky Way Farm in Pulaski, TN. Athletes can qualify in the competitive waves available at each location, where the top 25 male and female finishers are invited to compete in the World Championship.

In 2014, Warrior Dash gave away $100,000 in prize money in 2014 to some of the top athletes worldwide, including male winner, Max King and female winner, Kimber Mattox.

“The level of competition was out of this world,” said King. “But, the thing about obstacle racing that is so awesome is that you have all these different dynamics of people.  You have everybody from the elite-side, to the people who are going out and walking the whole course. It’s kind of like your gateway into more improved fitness.”

More details on the World Championship will be announced throughout 2015.

Get Involved with St. Jude

Warrior Dash continues its partnership this year with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors VIP program encourages Warriors to fundraise for St. Jude. Warriors that fundraise over $300 gain exclusive access to a VIP area at the event, complete with private showers, catering and a private lounge. Warriors who fundraise over $500 Dash for free.

Additionally, Warrior Dash is introducing ‘10 at 10’ St. Jude waves this season.  To run in a 10am wave (including 10am, 10:15am, 10:30am and 10:45am at all events), Warriors are required to make a minimum of a $10 donation to St. Jude. More than $10.8 million has been fundraised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through these programs since 2012.

New Sponsorship Activations

In 2015, Warrior Dash will continue its partnership in 2015 with USAgain for post-race shoe recycling, in addition to a variety of national and local sponsors, including:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PAUL McCARTNEY TO HEADLINE FIREFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Paul McCartney lays the rumors to rest and is set to give Firefly fans the show of their lifetime

DOVER, DE (Feb. 25) – Firefly Music Festival announced today the addition of Paul McCartney to the 2015 lineup. It is Paul’s first ever appearance in Delaware and the latest confirmed date of this year’s Out There tour, following on the recent announcement of April 21-May 2 run through Japan and South Korea. Firefly Music Festival takes place June 18-21 at The Woodlands of Dover, Delaware.

The Out There tour, as always, features music from the most beloved catalog in popular music, as Paul performs songs spanning his entire career—as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle.

“We’re not only excited, but honored, to have Paul McCartney join us at The Woodlands this year,” says Firefly Music Festival Director Greg Bostrom. “With his addition, this year’s lineup is our most exciting one yet.”

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity; in just three hours some of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music are relived; music which for many has shaped the very soundtrack of their lives. Recent years have seen Paul and his band perform in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people, and even broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s band of the last 10+ years—Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums)—the show never disappoints.

The tour also uses state of the art technology and production to ensure the entire audience has the best possible experience. With massive screens, lasers, fireworks, unique video content and, of course, the best songs in the world, a Paul McCartney show is so much more than just an ordinary concert. Paul’s shows attract a multi generational audience from different backgrounds all brought together by his music.

In addition to Paul McCartney, artists heading to The Woodlands the weekend of June 18-21 include Kings of Leon, The Killers, Morrissey, Snoop Dogg, Foster the People, Bastille, Modest Mouse, Zedd, Hozier, Empire of the Sun, Kid Cudi and nearly 100 additional acts performing across seven stages.

General Admission passes for Firefly Music Festival will go on sale Monday, March 2 through FireflyFestival.com with VIP pass options available Friday, Feb. 27. The 2015 full lineup in alphabetical order is listed below. For more information, contact Lauren King at lauren.king@redfrogevents.com.

WARRIOR DASH TO HOST SECOND-ANNUAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2015

The World’s Largest Obstacle Race Series Brings Elite Competition to Tennessee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CHICAGO, IL (Jan. 27) – After a successful first event in 2014, the Warrior Dash World Championship will be returning for a second year to a new location at Milky Way Farm in Pulaski, TN on Saturday, October 10, 2015. The Warrior Dash World Championship is an international 5K obstacle race where elite athletes sprint through the 3.1 mile course to battle for the ultimate bragging rights and thousands of dollars worth of prize money.

This will be Warrior Dash’s third year at Milky Way Farm. Tennessee’s terrain and course will provide a challenge for both returning and new competitors. Last year’s World Championship, in Esparto, CA, hosted world-class athletes including Hobie Call, Rose Wetzel and Cody Moat. Warrior Dash gave away $100,000 in prize money; the largest purse prize in 5K non-track history, including $30,000 to male winner, Max King and female winner, Kimber Mattox.

“The level of competition here is absolutely amazing,” according to King. “You’ve got anybody from obstacle race champions, to Olympians, to fast runners, to guys like Hunter [McIntyre], who are absolute obstacle race animals.”

Participants can qualify for the Warrior Dash World Championship by signing up for a competitive wave at any of the 30+ events internationally and placing in the top 25 of their gender.

“Since Warrior Dash’s inception in 2009, the obstacle racing industry has seen tremendous change and growth, and is becoming an internationally recognized sport,” says VP of Marketing at Warrior Dash, Tad Jenkins. “After a remarkably successful first Warrior Dash World Championship, we’re pleased to bring back the premier 5K competition for a second year in Tennessee and continue the challenge for our elite Warrior athletes.”

Milky Way Farm is near Nashville, TN and free of charge for spectators. The festival provides spectators the opportunity to see world-class athletes compete on the course and race through the finish, in addition to merchandise, food, beer, sponsorship activations and interactive activities. Additional sponsorship and activations will be announced as the event approaches.

Warrior Dash’s 2015 season begins on January 31, 2015 in Clermont, FL. Registration details and more information can be found at WarriorDash.com. To obtain more information or on-site credentials for any Warrior Dash event, contact Lauren Gardner at media@warriordash.com.
