PAUL McCARTNEY TO HEADLINE FIREFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PAUL McCARTNEY TO HEADLINE FIREFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Paul McCartney lays the rumors to rest and is set to give Firefly fans the show of their lifetime

DOVER, DE (Feb. 25) – Firefly Music Festival announced today the addition of Paul McCartney to the 2015 lineup. It is Paul’s first ever appearance in Delaware and the latest confirmed date of this year’s Out There tour, following on the recent announcement of April 21-May 2 run through Japan and South Korea. Firefly Music Festival takes place June 18-21 at The Woodlands of Dover, Delaware.

The Out There tour, as always, features music from the most beloved catalog in popular music, as Paul performs songs spanning his entire career—as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle.

“We’re not only excited, but honored, to have Paul McCartney join us at The Woodlands this year,” says Firefly Music Festival Director Greg Bostrom. “With his addition, this year’s lineup is our most exciting one yet.”

The McCartney live experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity; in just three hours some of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music are relived; music which for many has shaped the very soundtrack of their lives. Recent years have seen Paul and his band perform in a staggeringly impressive range of venues and locations, including outside the Coliseum in Rome, in Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, at the White House, a free show in Mexico to over 400,000 people, and even broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s band of the last 10+ years—Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums)—the show never disappoints.

The tour also uses state of the art technology and production to ensure the entire audience has the best possible experience. With massive screens, lasers, fireworks, unique video content and, of course, the best songs in the world, a Paul McCartney show is so much more than just an ordinary concert. Paul’s shows attract a multi generational audience from different backgrounds all brought together by his music.

In addition to Paul McCartney, artists heading to The Woodlands the weekend of June 18-21 include Kings of Leon, The Killers, Morrissey, Snoop Dogg, Foster the People, Bastille, Modest Mouse, Zedd, Hozier, Empire of the Sun, Kid Cudi and nearly 100 additional acts performing across seven stages.

General Admission passes for Firefly Music Festival will go on sale Monday, March 2 through FireflyFestival.com with VIP pass options available Friday, Feb. 27. The 2015 full lineup in alphabetical order is listed below. For more information, contact Lauren King at lauren.king@redfrogevents.com.

“The level of competition here is absolutely amazing,” according to King. “You’ve got anybody from obstacle race champions, to Olympians, to fast runners, to guys like Hunter [McIntyre], who are absolute obstacle race animals.”

Participants can qualify for the Warrior Dash World Championship by signing up for a competitive wave at any of the 30+ events internationally and placing in the top 25 of their gender.

Firefly Music Festival economic impact more than $68 million

DOVER, Del. (Dec. 3, 2014) – The four-day Firefly Music Festival contributed more than $68 million to the regional economy and created the equivalent of 579 full-time jobs in 2014, according to a study released today.

In addition, state, local and federal tax contributions as a result of the June 19-22, 2014 event at Dover International Speedway totaled $9.9 million.

The study was conducted by the Center for Applied Business and Economic Research, part of the Alfred Lerner College of Business at the University of Delaware, and was commissioned by a partnership between Dover International Speedway, event promoter Red Frog Events and the Delaware Tourism Office, a division of the Delaware Economic Development Office.

As part of the study, 900 festival-goers were interviewed about their purchases from on‐site vendors and off-site businesses, both enroute to the festival and during their time in Dover. An additional 5,000 on‐line survey responses were included.

“As Firefly has grown, so has its impact on our state,” said Delaware Gov. Jack Markell. “We look forward to having Firefly continue to bring fans and economic activity to Delaware for years to come.”

The $68 million in spending for goods and services throughout the economy that Firefly generates averages out to more than $850 per guest, with approximately 80,000 attending the 2014 festival. The figures reflect in part Firefly’s substantial and rapid growth since its debut in 2012, when about 30,000 fans attended.

In addition to the money that Firefly helps inject directly into the economy, the 579 full-time-equivalent jobs it helped create before, during and after the event came with total additional wage and salary payments of more than $23 million.

“When we launched Firefly in 2012, we had the lofty goal of making it one of the largest music festivals in the country. As we head into our fourth year, we’re excited to see it make the economic impact we hoped it would,” said Greg Bostrom, executive director of Firefly Music Festival. “It’s great to bring joy to tens of thousands of festival goers each year and help strengthen the economy in the process.”

“Bringing an event like Firefly to Delaware, of course, helps put our state on the map in the music world,” said Mike Tatoian, chief operating officer of Dover Motorsports, Inc. “But the economic numbers this study has yielded prove that the festival’s reach goes far beyond just the entertainment business.”

The top business sectors impacted by Firefly include food service and drinking establishments; retail stores; security services; building maintenance and repair services; and hotels and motels.

“It’s also important to note that the impact of Firefly reaches far beyond the immediate economic benefits,” said Linda Parkowski, director of the Delaware Tourism Office. “By hosting 80,000 people from all 50 states and 24 foreign countries, Delaware gains visibility, and its appeal as a destination is enhanced.”

Firefly Music Festival returns to the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway on June 18-21, 2015. For more information, visit www.fireflyfestival.com.

Red Frog Events Purchases Nation’s Largest St. Patrick’s Day Festival

Award-winning event production company to produce and enhance Washington D.C.’s annual ShamrockFest tradition

CHICAGO, IL (Dec. 3) – Red Frog Events has reached an agreement with GoCity Events to purchase Washington D.C.’s successful ShamrockFest and will produce the event starting in 2015.

As the largest St. Patrick’s Day festival in the United States, ShamrockFest features multiple stages with 30 artists, along with an Irish village with vendors, games, food, beer, and more.

“Red Frog Events has an impressive track record of producing quality events and experiences,” says Mike Harrigan of GoCity Events. “I’m confident they’ll take ShamrockFest and enhance the St. Patrick’s Day experience we built more than a decade ago.”

“When Mike asked if we’d be interested in purchasing ShamrockFest, it didn’t take long for us to determine it was a great opportunity,” said Ryan Kunkel, Co-CEO of Red Frog Events. “We continually look at opportunities to add to our portfolio of brands, whether we’re creating them internally, innovating on existing concepts, or acquiring established brands that we can continue to build upon. ShamrockFest fit that bill nicely.”

Red Frog Events has been producing innovative brands since 2007. The company pioneered the experiential entertainment industry with its obstacle racing series, Warrior Dash, and in 2012 founded Firefly Music Festival, one of the largest and fastest growing music festivals in the country. Red Frog Events conceptualizes and produces its own festivals, races, and events, in addition to working with business owners to assist in driving greater success for their companies. These services include providing ticketing and registration, staffing, investment, and acquisitions.

ShamrockFest will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at RFK Stadium Festival Grounds in Washington D.C. Tickets will go on sale in early 2015 at ShamrockFest.com through the ticketing platform EventSprout.
